My Journey Into Minimalism Is A Personal Journey

Many of you that regularly visit our blog also visit us on our Facebook page where we have a fantastic community of like minded friends – most of the time.  (If you haven’t visited our page yet, please stop by here – Minimalism Is Simple.)  Once in a while, unfortunately, every fantastic community on Facebook seems to be visited by someone who just feels that everyone in the world wants to hear their opinion.  What I am writing about is MY JOURNEY INTO MINIMALISM.  I am not writing about YOUR journey.  Your journey is your personal journey just as my journey is my personal journey.

I am not going to berate the person – and it was only one person – but I would like to publicly say please do not visit our community again.  Our community is filled with kind, caring people who truly care about this world we live in.  Our Facebook community is an open community without judgement and we want the members in our family to feel free to chat about anything they want on THEIR personal journey into minimalism.

I have previously wrote that the term minimalism means something very different to different people.  For me, my journey into minimalism has provided me with more resources to give back to the organizations that are important in my life.  As I’ve gotten older and my daughters have left the house, I find that I just don’t need as much S T U F F that maybe I thought I once did.  I am a successful business owner that distributes cool pool toys and beach gear – things you won’t find in WalMart and this success has allowed me to give back.  But my journey at this time in my life over 50 is a very different journey from my daughter’s at 25.  My daughter and those her age will be the ones that make the REAL difference in this world and I commend them all and look forward to following each and every one of their journeys.  You can also follow my daughter’s journey not only on this site but on Facebook.

At this crazy time in our world, take a moment to step back before you spew sarcasm into a world that needs kindness.  Be the one to step into the light out of the darkness.  Be you and own your journey wherever it make take you.  I own mine and look forward to sharing more with you as we wind our way down the minimalist pathway.
