It seems there is a TV show for just about every interest. Food, wilderness, interior design, fishing, hunting, etc. Previously I gave a review on a TV show that was new on the block: Tiny House Nation is all about families that downsize from large family homes to tiny homes.
Today, there’s another new show I want to touch on: Tiny House Hunting! Also an FYI show, Tiny House Hunting features families looking to purchase tiny homes (rather than build them, which is what Tiny House Nation focuses on).
What it’s about…
Tiny House Hunting is a fun spin on the traditional house hunting shows, focusing on tinier living. The show features tiny homes on wheels, houseboats, micro cabins, and more in different cities. Their website states “Tiny House Hunting follows realtors as they help a pair of tiny home seekers find the perfect existing mini-space.”

What you’ll gain from it…
If you’re thinking buying a tiny home, rather than building one, this show will help you get a better feel for what is available, as well as show you that there are many different options for scaling back. One of the biggest pluses of this show is it puts things in perspective for people. Many expect that going tiny means you may only pay $10k for a home, and while that may be true in some cases, it’s not true for all. In fact, many tiny homes can cost upwards of $50k!
Rate it on a scale from 1 – 10 (10 being LOVE IT!)…
I would give this show an 8 rating. While it is an entertaining show, it’s also reality TV. There is quite a bit left out and quite a bit exaggerated. That said, I still feel it’s a worthwhile watch for anyone considering tiny living.
