Living Simply In A Chaotic World

This week’s post from me may feel like it’s all over the place. That’s because I’m feeling all over the place lately.  I never in a million years expected what we as a society are experiencing right now and to be honest, it’s a bit scary. At least it’s scary to me.how to live life simply mis

When I feel like I am all over the place, my stress levels tend to rise and that is what is happening right now.  I am experiencing stress in a way I haven’t in some time. Generally exercise keeps my stress in check but even though I continue to exercise each day the stress is still there. It is manageable however because in addition to exercise, I watch what I eat, try to get enough sleep at night and I take the time to meditate daily.

Until a few weeks ago, I was meditating both in the morning and in the evening but for some reason, stopped with the morning meditation.  Today I restarted this part of my day and feel a bit more under control than I did yesterday.

One thing that has become increasingly important to me is to continue to live simply. This phrase that you may have heard before “Live simply so that others may simply live.” has taken on new meaning for me.  Think about it.  Our ecosystem is being compromised at a rate never before witnessed. The world as we have known it is changing. (You may also enjoy this essay: Living Minimally Reduces Stress)

What can we do?  I am at a loss at this time because I’m not sure where to even start other than in my own home and surrounding area.  Possibly if everyone just started living simply a ripple might be created and jointly we could make a difference.

I wish I had an answer but I don’t. What I do know is that if we each make a commitment to be just a little more kinder to each other. To only use what we need to use.  To help others that we are able to help. To support our elected leaders instead of bashing them.  Just maybe we can move forward.  I really would like to hear your thoughts on this topic.  Email us or post in our Facebook community. Together, quite possibly, we can make a difference.

In light and love,

Denise
