Lately, I’ve been going through a new phase in my life that will take my minimalist lifestyle to another level. I’m excited by this new phase as I continue to map out my the life the way I want to live it. The two biggest areas that will be changing is my profession and my finances. I’m putting it out to the universe that I want to live abundantly through my writing and helping others on their personal journeys in business and fitness. This is the first step for how to reach your goals – putting it out to the world.
When you sit and write down your goals, you will find that one seems to be the trigger to success in the others. For example, my list includes becoming debt free including my home, helping as many people as possible become fit and healthy and to make an abundant living with my writing. When you look at these three goals in writing, it’s clear that the goal of living abundantly through my writing will tick off all three goals on the list so I am focusing on my writing WHICH will be based on helping others on their personal journeys. Funny how that works out isn’t it?
If you are ready to make some changes, today take some time to sit down and write down your goals and then number your top three goals for the next 12 months. Really take the time to think about this because it is very important. You will probably find out a few things about yourself during the process. Once you have decided your top three goals, study those to determine which one will help you reach not only your next two but all the goals on your list.
Now that you know the top three goals you want to accomplish, go back and look at your list again. How many of those are based on things? I’m not a betting woman, but I would wager that for most of us, the list does not include or includes very little in the way of material things. And right there will be your aha moment. The things in life that are important are not really things. Another car, a bigger house or more clothes will not be what you remember. You will remember being able to take a day off and spend it at the beach with your kids and grand kids. You will remember sitting on the porch enjoying the evening with your spouse. You will remember the holiday dinners you were able to put on the table.
The process of writing down your goals for the next 12 months was for two reasons. To really get you to think about where you want to be and to realize what is actually important in your life. Now that you know where you want to be in one year, take the next step to move closer to goal number one on your list.
Get moving and create the life YOU want to live.
Light and love,
